Welcome

The Elim Pentecostal Church in Huddersfield was formed in 1931 when evangelist George Jeffries visited the town with a message of salvation and a demonstration of The Holy Spirit’s presence in Pentecostal power.

Today the church, in the heart of Huddersfield, has developed into an international congregation of all ages, but it continues to reflect its roots in its core values. Pentecostal by doctrine and practice we reach out with the good news of Christ in our services, through small groups, in schools and out on the streets. The Bible remains central to all our beliefs and practices and we are committed to prayer and maintaining a consistently strong children’s and youth work.

Our Sunday morning services offer you the chance to meet in a friendly atmosphere of both fellowship and worship with a full range of children’s activities from a crèche to a teenagers’ group.

We are a servant-hearted church, providing practical care in the community and touching those on the fringes of society. In our 611 Centre we minister to refugees, asylum seekers and those with drug and alcohol problems while in Honley we run a café – Café Plus.

Our desire to see people growing in their faith in Christ is seen in our weekly programme of events. These range from children’s and youth meetings to a seniors' luncheon group. We have many small groups in different areas around the town as well as groups for men, women and different ethnic groups. We run training and equipping courses as well as having informal groups such as a craft fellowship and a football team. There is something for you.

We would love to see you at any of our church activities. Why not explore our web site to find out more. If you would like any further information you could contact any of our ministers.
