611 Ministry

Thursday 8.30pm & Saturday 8.30pm
611 Centre

611 Ministry commenced on a small scale in the year 2000 through contact with street girls and others with life-controlling problems. The purchase of a double-decker bus in 2001 gave increased opportunity to extend the ministry and the acquisition of the 611 Centre in January 2005 provided a base for a permanent work among drug addicts, alcoholics, homeless people and street working girls.

The name of this ministry, and subsequently the centre at which it is based, comes from Isaiah 61:1 and reflects our mission to bring help to the poor and to the needy.

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners."
