Peter served as Senior Pastor of the church from September 1980 until his retirement in April 2011. During this time he saw considerable blessing and growth in the church. On his retirement he took the honorary title "Pastor Emeritus of Huddersfield Elim Pentecostal Church", indicating his previous service and his continued link with the church. Kath worked tirelessly alongside Peter throughout the thirty years they headed the church.
Some years ago Peter & Kath received a prophetic word which spoke of them reaching the nations. They have both travelled to various third world countries but they felt that they had seen a partial fulfilment of this prophecy as “the nations” began to come to Huddersfield. Their work with asylum seekers and others who came to Huddersfield from different countries has helped to make us a multicultural church. Now, freed from the limitations of heading a growing church, Peter and Kath are able to touch the nations as never before. They are visiting various mission fields, supporting pastors and getting involved with the needs of the “ordinary” Christians. In doing this, they are extending the work of Huddersfield Elim Church and our ministry becomes far reaching. While in Huddersfield Peter & Kath are available to serve the leadership of the Elim Church in whatever way is deemed appropriate. Their experience and expertise is therefore not lost to the church. Peter & Kath thus continue to be a part of this church that they have grown to love so much.
